Magazine Pouches
Any time you are carrying, I highly recommend carrying at least one backup magazine in a magazine pouch (or moon clip/speed loader if you carry a revolver). Not only could you possibly need the extra ammunition against multiple threats, but it also provides a fallback if your primary magazine decides to malfunction. Some people even choose to carry an entire backup gun for this reason. There are many choices of magazine pouches available in single or double configurations and made from typical materials like Kydex, nylon, or leather.

You shoud ALWAYS carry a spare magazine/speed loader (you don’t need 100 rounds, just a spare), but like my Great Grandmother told me (yep she carried her whole life, went thru 2 world wars in europe, can’t fault her) if you need to reload you also need to be leaving…NOW!

I have never heard of anyone that walked away from a gun fight complain that they had too many bullets.
